At the National Fostering Agency, we understand that fostering services are best offered at a local level and, consequently, we pride ourselves in providing ‘national expertise, local foster care and support’.
Although many centralised fostering services occur through our head and regional offices, the key work involving high quality placements for individual children remains with the local foster carer.
Our services for foster carers when fostering a child
National Fostering Agency foster carers are supported on a 24-hour basis, by local, professionally qualified and experienced Supervising Social Workers.
The National Fostering Agency also works with leading e-learning provider, Akamas, to provide training courses. Training courses are available to all foster carers and are designed to help fostering a child when working with vulnerable or traumatised children and young people.
Our services for local authorities
The National Fostering Agency has regional offices throughout England, Scotland and Wales, to provide professional, well managed support for foster carers, children and young people across the United Kingdom.
We work closely with Local Authorities to ensure the foster placement meets the child’s needs.
